Laser Therapy
LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser therapy uses light to enhance and speed up natural healing processes. Laser therapy is a painless and non-invasive therapeutic technique that can treat all pathologies involving pain, inflammation, edema, wounds, and ulcers.

How it works

What pets feel

Time
Laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to enter damaged cells and stimulate inter-cellular activity. The cellular activity it stimulates reduces the pain in the area and speeds recovery of damaged cells.
This is our most of our patients' favorite part of their rehab session! Pets will feel a warming sensation and seem to really enjoy it.
Laser treatments can last an average of 5-15 minutes. Some patients with multiple affected joints can take 30 minutes.

Conditions
Treatments
Some of the conditions for which laser has been shown to be affected are the following:
Acute and Chronic Pain
Osteoarthritis
IVDD
Skin Issues (Hot Spots, Lick Granulomas, abscesses, wounds)
Degenerative Myelopathy

Treatment protocol depends on the conditions being treated and phase of tissue injury/recovery. For acute conditions, three times weekly treatment. For chronic conditions, usually twice weekly for 2-3 weeks and then once weekly.
